Here, the approach was to create a room that feels gentle and considered, rather than overly defined by any one function.
A muted palette of soft greens and warm neutrals runs throughout the space.
Painted joinery frames the windows and wardrobes, introducing colour in a way that feels integrated into the architecture. This is balanced with softer tones across walls, textiles and flooring, allowing the room to feel cohesive and easy to live in.
The layout is deliberately open. A central area is left for play, while low-level storage and open shelving keep toys and books accessible without overwhelming the space. Furniture is soft in form and low in scale, bringing a sense of comfort while remaining in-keeping with the wider home.
Set against the backdrop of the home’s original features, with its beautiful high ceilings, detailed cornicing and generous windows, the design works quietly alongside the architecture, adding warmth without competing with it.
The result is a nursery that feels calm, layered and adaptable. A space shaped around everyday life, and designed to grow with the child.
